FAQs
What materials do you use?
My creatures are brought to life with polymer clay. I primarily use Sculpey, but also use Papa's Clay, Cosclay, and Pardo. Any creature may also contain acrylic craft paints, soft pastels, resin, glass cabachons, aluminum foil, wire armature, etc. If you have any concerns about what your adoptee may contain, please contact me via the Contact section on this site or via DM on my IG or Facebook pages (icon links at the bottom of the page) prior to purchase.
Do you use molds?
Not at this time. If I do in the future I will make sure to note it. All of my creations are 100% handmade and one of a kind. With that said, all critters will have some flaws and imperfections, but rest assured your adoptee will be sound enough to hang with you for years to come.
How do I care for my Dustkin or Shop Friend?
Dustkins and shop friends are pretty self sufficient, but prefer to be left out of the sun and particularly hate being bathed (please do not use water or any type of chemical or natural cleaners to clean). Contrary to popular belief, they do appreciate the occasional light dusting with a dry cloth or duster.
Do you create in a Smoke-free/Pet-free space?
I do create these critters in my home, which is smoke-free, but we are a dog-friendly crew.
Are your creations Child Safe?
Absolutely not. While these creations may be considered art toys, they are in no way intended to be for children. They do need to be handled with care and are better suited for adult collectors.
**WARNING**
MOST CRITTERS HAVE SMALL PARTS THAT COULD BREAK AND CAUSE A CHOKING HAZARD OR OTHER INJURY, KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN AND PETS!
Oh no my Dustkin/Shop Friend broke!
Not to worry! Polymer clay is pretty durable and will tolerate the sometimes rowdy nature of these little critters. However, sometimes everyone gets a boo-boo. If that happens, a little super glue should have your critter back to new in no time.
My Dustkin/Shop Friend broke during shipping!
I do make every effort to pack all critters with the utmost care, but sometimes things happen. Again, not to worry! If the damage is fairly small, a little super glue should get them back to new. However, if the damage is more extensive or you have concerns, please contact me via the Contact section on this site or via DM on my IG or Facebook pages (icon links at the bottom of the page)to discuss next steps.
Do you accept returns?
No. Please make sure you are comfortable with the item you are purchasing prior to purchase. If you have any questions, concerns or need to see more photos/videos, please contact me via the Contact section on this site or via DM on my IG or Facebook pages (icon links at the bottom of the page). I am happy to answer questions and send more photos. I've never had a critter complain about taking more pictures. :) Also, please check either my Instagram or Facebook pages as I will typically have more photos there. If you need to re-home any critters, please contact me.
Where do you ship?
At this time I am only shipping within the United States. If you are outside the United States and are looking to adopt a critter, please contact me via the Contact section on this site or via DM on my IG or Facebook pages (icon links at the bottom of the page)
What shipping materials do you use?
Great question! I do tend to use recycled materials so your adoptee may arrive in a previously loved box. I make every effort to reuse shipping materials I receive so your packaging may look different each time, but please rest assured that I will only use materials that will keep your adoptee safe and sound on it's journey to your home.
I still have a question...
Feel free to contact me via the Contact section on this site or via DM on my IG or Facebook pages (icon links at the bottom of the page). I love questions and will get back to you as soon as possible.
